The April 21st meeting of the Youth Leadership Program began with President Houtan Taba leading the group in the Invocation, Pledge, and recitation of the Toastmasters mission statement.
Houtan then reviewed objectives for the meeting and introduce a word-of-the-day, “proactive”.
Toastmaster Milo Holt gave a brief educational speech on the elements of effective evaluations and lectern protocol.
President Taba reviewed timing lights and introduced each speaker in turn.
After delivery of the speeches and a five minute break, Toastmaster Nandu Shah introduced the speech evaluation portion of the meeting. Following evaluations, Nandu led the impromptu speaking segment, calling on various members to speak on extemporaneous topics.
Members voted on the best evaluations and impromptu speeches, and ribbons were distributed to the winners. The Best Evaluator ribbon went to Mayuri Shah and the Best Table Topics ribbon was awarded to Elizabeth Oehl.
An overall evaluation of the meeting was delivered by Toastmaster George Oehl. Toastmaster Millie Tannen provided the Ah Counters report.
President Taba adjourned the meeting at approximately 5:40 p.m..
